Kingsley Uju Meets NEMA, Others Over Flooding, Insecurity in S’East

Reassures Constituents of better days By Ikenna Orioha In order to contain Flooding and Insecurity in the South East particularly Imo State, member representing Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta/Oru West Federal Constituency in the House of Reps, Hon Chima Kingsley Uju, says he had met with the National Emergency Management Agency and other Concerned Relevant Agencies of Government. Uju, before becoming a Rep Member, had provided succour to Flood Victims at the Niger Delta region of Imo State to palliatively cushion their serious problems. Those previous years were witnessed with adverse flood that claimed many lives and ravaged many households with aquatic beings and farm products being destroyed by the scourging flood. Uju disclosed this while having an audience with members of Niger Delta Media Forum at his residence, Umuorji, Ohaji Egbema, Imo State, on Sunday. Uju Kingsley visits flood ravaged communities in Egbema and Oguta.

Promises to assist flood ravaged communities The Federal law maker who was accompanied by NEMA Officials in the state; Monday, 6th August, defied the rain to visit affected communities at Mmahu, Ogbokofia in Egbema and Eziorsu and Orsu Obodo in Oguta LGA. Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima who was moved to tears on getting to the effected communities stated, "as a member Representing Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency, I will ensure that the affected victims are taken care of in collaboration with other stakeholders for their wellbeing". He called on those whose property were destroyed including farms not to despair as the government is determined to bring succor to the effected communities. In Oguta, most of the communities visited had been submerged by the flood. The lawmaker stated, no life was lost. He called on NEMA, State/Federal Government and other interventionist agencies to assist in ameliorating the sufferings of victims of flood.
