SARS arrests killer of PA to Ihedioha’s aide

The Special Anti -Robbery Squad of the Imo State Police Command has arrested the suspected killer of Bruno Uchechukwu. Uchechukwu, until his death last week at the Cherubim junction in Owerri , was the Personal Assistant to Jasper Ndubuaku , who is the Chairman of the Committee for the Recovery of Movable Stolen Assets belonging to the state government and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security Matters . The state Commissioner of Police , Rabiu Ladodo, said the suspect , Leonard Dennis, was arrested based on credible intelligence. Ladodo, who described the suspect as a notorious criminal , said he belonged to a cult. The CP , who said the suspect was popularly known as Toothpick, added that the SARS Commander , Godfrey Victor , led the operation to the School Road in Owerri Municipal , where the suspect was apprehended . Gunmen suspected to be political assailants have killed Bruno Uchechukwu, the personal assistant to the chairman of Imo State committee on the Recovery of Stolen Movable Assets belonging to the Imo State government , Jasper Ndubuaku . The committee , which is chaired by a former member of the state House of Assembly, Ndubuaku , was inaugurated by the state governor , Emeka Ihedioha , shortly after his swearing- in. Our correspondent learnt that the victim was murdered on Sunday evening at Cherubim Junction, a popular junction in the state capital . Bruno , who was rushed to a hospital was confirmed dead by the medical experts . The deceased , 32 hailed from Atta in the Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state . He was the first son of his only surviving aged mother , a relative told our correspondent . Ndubuaku expressed deep worry over the incident , saying that the killing was either targeted at him or done to frighten him on his job . Ihedioha raises the alarm over impersonation

Chidiebube Okeoma The Imo State Governor , Emeka Ihedioha , has raised the alarm that some fraudsters are impersonating him by distributing fake contractor registration forms to unsuspecting members of the public . A statement on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary , Chibuike Onyeukwu , said the unidentified fraudsters were demanding N 125 ,000 per person. He said the fake forms were about Sustainable Development Goals projects. The statement quoted the governor as saying the fraudsters , who had allegedly opened a bank account, were impersonating his WhatsApp and Facebook pages to advance their fraudulent activities. The governor said security agents had been duly informed of the act , vowing that those behind the fraudulent activities would be brought to justice . Chidiebube Okeoma, Owerri An ongoing cult clash between rival groups at the Imo State University , Owerri , on Wednesday , claimed no fewer than two lives while several others were injured . The shooting which broke out between two yet - to-be -identified confraternities around the main gate of the varsity caused panic as students , including businessmen , scampered for safety . The immediate past governor of the state , Rochas Okorocha on Friday said that the officials of the state government were looting goods at All -in Supermarket owned by her wife which had been sealed by the operatives of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission. There was pandemonium Thursday night in Owerri, the Imo State capital when armed youths attached to the Imo State Committee on Recovery of Government property,  invaded a shopping mall (House of Freeda) owned by the daughter of the immediate past governor of the State, in search of government property. Property and merchandise said to belong to the state government were carted away.
