Duncan Mighty arrested on allegation of Fraud- Police

Following report this morning that popular Portharcourt based musician, Duncan Mighty was abducted by unknown Gunmen early hours of this morning, the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command through the Public Relations Officer, SP Ikeokwu Godson Orlando has issued a press release informing the public the musician was not abducted but arrested based on petition written by an upcoming rap artist M2, who claimed that the IMO state Government led by Owelle Rochas Okorocha, through the office of the SA oN Entertainment, enter into a deal with DUNCAN MIGHTY to manage, promote, arrange Collaboration with other top artist and sign M2 under YOUNG WEALTH record label owned by Duncan Mighty,as a result an agreement was reached with a fee of ELEVEN MILLION NAIRA (N11,000,000) Was paid to him,However, since collecting the payment he refused to fulfill his own part of the deal. Man runs amok, kills three in Imo community

Villagers set him ablaze. Hell was let loose on Thursday in Imo State, when a man, identified as Chigozie Alagbaoso, alias “Kpakas Chigozie” ran amok, armed with a sharp dagger and axe, threatening to kill anybody at sight. The incident which took place at Umuduru Ubahohie Nnempi Autonomous community in Oru West council area of Imo State, made people living in the village to scamper for safety in different directions. Unfortunately, a four-year-old boy, Daniel Oleka and two other persons, including a vigilante operative who live within the same vicinity could not escape before the man pounced on them and cut them severally on the heads and necks before they died on the spot. Eyewitnesses told The Nation that Chigozie, 29, who was a phone accessories dealer in Onitsha, also left seven other persons severely wounded with one of the victims having one of her breasts gruesomely chopped off from her chest and another deep cut on her leg. Command probes killing of Imo teenager by sergeant

The Imo State Police Command , on Tuesday , said investigation into what led to the killing of 18 - year -old Awuzie Duru by a police sergeant at Umuaka in the Njaba Local Government Area of the state , had commenced. The sergeant , who is currently in custody , allegedly shot the victim dead for slapping him. Speaking to our correspondent in Owerri , the Police Public Relations Officer in the state , Orlando Ikeokwu , said the killer cop was in custody contrary to speculations that he had fled. The police spokesperson also said the state Commissioner of Police , Rabiu Ladodo, had ordered an investigation into the incident . Ikeokwu said the command did not want to act based on assumptions . According to him, a detailed investigation will determine what actually happened . The police spokesperson assured the residents of the state that nothing short of justice would be served . “No , he ( sergeant ) did not run away . He is with the command . We don’t want to work on assumptions . The commissioner of police has constituted an investigative team . The aim is to get first - hand information on what actually happened ,” he stated . Ihedioha shuts hotel, water factory over attack on officials

The Imo State Governor , Emeka Ihedioha , has ordered the immediate shutdown of the M 2 International Guest House , Amakohia , Owerri , and the Tapa Pure Water Factory, Orji , over attacks on officials of the state Environmental Transformation Enforcement Team on Illegal Dumping of Refuse, while performing their lawful duties . The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor , Chibuike Onyeukwu , said in a statement on Tuesday that Ihedioha vowed to discipline any interim management committee chairman of any local government area who failed to keep their area clean . The statement said the governor equally charged his aide on sanitation , Alex Emeziem , to improve on the sanitation of the state .
